Reviewed 2016 biography of Alif Buterinote

Alif Buterinote, a Congolese director from the Eastern part of his country, is the most awarded worldwide filmmaker from North-Kivu province. Nowadays his films make the success in the world of festivals. He was born in Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo which town is a falsely city known around the world by the various wars that crosses the North-Kivu province of which it’s the head-place. He was born indeed in Goma, a certain Friday 1 May 1998 when the country had just become democracies. In 2004, he began his primary education that he ended in 2010, a year after he began his career in filmmaking. Note that in his childhood, always loved Alif spent all his time in his Avenue cinemas to screen Indian films and Chinese films especially the famous comic actor Jackie Chan. Unaware that one day he could become a filmmaker and a director, he already had a good start to become what he is today because according to him, to make films, you must have the culture of watching movies. This will influence his failure in 5th primary year when he for the first time in his life, remakes a class. The following year in 2009, he remade his 5th primary class and began at the same time his movie career in a cinema group operating in his neighborhood bearing the name GCV (Film Group Vibration) when films from Tanzania had full success in North-Kivu and especially in Goma and Bukavu those films was made by the actor and director Steven Kanumba, who indirectly gave the greatest motivation to Alif Buterinote to have hope of success in filmmakingwhat he had just started because front they were only films made by western or oriental that existed, but with films from Tanzania, he realize that even he could one day be able to do a movie: it was his greatest motivation the same pushed him to join this group of filmmakers when he was still 11 years. In late 2009, he goes to the cultural center for art creativity and cultural exchanges Yolé!Africa where he received his first initiation in cinema in 2010 at a workshop during 2010 organized by theFESTIMAJlike professors Gilles Lemounaudand Anne-Claude Lumet who had been sent by this French festival in Congo DR to train young Congolese filmmakers. At the end of this formation in July 2010, they released a film under the title "Sapilo but not too much”, a short film of 24 minutes written by Anne-Claude Lumet and students and directed by Gilles Lemounaud where Alif was among the main actors of the film. In that same year, he participated as a student in cinema for his first time in the Salaam Kivu International Film Festivalwhich is a film festival organized by Yolé!Africa until 2014 when he participated as film student. In 2012, he made his cinema master class in the same cultural center with as framerthe director Petna Ndaliko Katondolo for two weeks. In his cinema training career, he has also been taught by the English filmmaker and Founder of Peace One Day Geremy Gilley, the Americans filmmakers Nelson Walker and Lynn True, the Canadian filmmaker Mathieu Roy and many others. Towards the end of this year, he directed his first film fiction of 3 minutes, "Mulube" (Rope game), which he considers a class exercise. The following year in 2013, he made his first documentary film, "Bomoyi yako yikampiko" (Life of struggles), which had received an official selection in the festival FENACO of Peru in 2014 and this is his film that he considers the first he could realize himself. In 2015, he directed his second film he himself wrote and produced almost like all his films, experimental documentary, "The land of my art,that having a serious success in international festivals around the world. Note that this film until August 2016 participated in 11 festivals worldwide and has won so far two international awards respectively in the Chennai International Short Film Festival 2016 (India) where he was awarded as the Best Short Documentary Filmand in the CreActive InternationalOpen Film Festival 2016 (USA-Bangladesh) where he was awarded as the Best Country Award. The 11 festivals where the film received official selections are Laguna Film Festival 2015 (USA), Black Bird Film Festival 2015 (USA), Goldensun International Film Festival, 2016 (Malta), Chennai International Short Film Festival 2016 (India), Dirriti-a-Todi Human Rights Film Festival 2015 (Italy), Festival International du cinéma de Kinshasa 2016 (DRC), Congo International Film Festival 2016 (DRC), Ekurhuleni International Film Festival 2016 (South Africa),Afro-pépitesShow 2016 (France), Ismailia International Film Festival 2016 (Egypt) and the CreActive International Open Film Festival 2016 (USA-Bangladesh). After this international success across international festivals worldwide, in this 2016 year, he directed his third film, a fiction than a minute, "I cannot". This masterpiece has also traveled in many international festivals including the Girona Film Festival 2016 (Spain), Toronto Urban Film Festival 2016 (Canada) and the Vancouver International Film Festival 2016 in the Reel Youth Film Festival (Canada). Apart from these film festivals mentioned above, there is a whole list where it has already been selected in various competitions organized by the United Nations and many other film festivals worldwide. In the future, this talented Congolese director has several film projects to achieve: feature films and documentaries. This so that his country takes the overof the African cinema which deserves this place because it had crossed hitherto horrendous situations despite having a great story to expose its culture to the world, it the goal somehow his film and his masterpiece of all time he promises to do in the future, a 100-minute fiction whose title "Mobembo" which will be preceded by a series of documentaries total 1000 minutes of film.
